Little Red Schoolhouse Libraries
Free book-sharing stations around Lock Haven where anyone can take or leave a book; they hold reading material only.
The Little Red Schoolhouse Libraries are the club's signature literacy project: free community book-sharing stations placed around Lock Haven. They are stocked exclusively with books and reading material for community members of all ages.
Locations
Libraries are located around Lock Haven and Woodward Township, including Triangle Park, Piper, Tiger Den, and Hanna Park. Diahann Claghorn is the primary person who fills and maintains them.
Community members are welcome to take a book or leave a book. The libraries are intended exclusively for reading material.
Grant Update
In August 2026, a District 7360 community grant for the Little Libraries project was approved. With the grant, three of the libraries will be replaced with sturdier boxes, at Piper-Harmon Playground, the beach steps at the north end of Vesper Street, and Jack Bailey Playground.
